Assisted-Suicide in Switzerland

Criminal Code par. 155 (1937)

Switzerland has had no law prohibiting assisted suicide since 1937, when its criminal code was revised. Since assisted suicide is legal, anyone may assist the suicide of a physically ill person for purpose of relieving suffering. No official statistics are available. There are no safeguards, no residency requirements, and no investigation, unless someone notifies the police.
