New Hampshire Aid-in-Dying Act S.B. 44-FN (1999)
Failed
Summary
Would have allowed a mentally competent adult, who was a New Hampshire resident, had been diagnosed as having a condition of severe, unrelenting suffering from a terminal disease, by the patient’s attending physician and a consulting physician, and who had voluntarily expressed a wish to die, to make a written request for a drug prescription which would have enabled the patient to take a lethal dose. There was a waiting period of 15 days between the patient’s initial oral request and the writing of the prescription; and 48 hours between the patient’s written request and the writing of the prescription.Posted on June 26, 2004. |
